This has been accelerated by technological developments, accompanied by lower costs in telecommunications, specifically broadband and mobile devices like cellphones and PDA’s. Many (though not all) jobs are suitable for teleworking: with sales, marketing, graphic design and advertising you can work from home at least one day a week.

West Africa Cable System (WACS) landed – Expectations are high

Expectations are high as the West Africa Cable System (WACS) landed on the Namibian shores at Swakopmund on 8 February 2011. The cable is set for commercial launch by 2012.

Telecom Namibia, the landing party in Namibia for the WACS submarine cable, has assured Namibians that the cable would crash the cost of bandwidth, which has remained very expensive, resulting to high cost of data and voice services. Reduction in prices is anticipated over time.
